Who is Rohony

Rohony, real name Adam Rohony, comes from Stařeč in the Vysočina region and brought the world of village pubs, community halls and Sunday football into Czech rap – which is why the weekly Respekt dubbed him the king of the villages. As a youngster he played football in the youth teams of FC Vysočina Jihlava; he studied graphic design at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Ostrava and started making music back in secondary school. He has been active on the rap scene since 2019, when he was releasing singles and EPs in a more alternative vein.

Key to his work is his collaboration with producer mdmx. After the joint album Arpar (2022) and the EP 21,5g (2023), December 2023 brought the record Superfly, which combined rap, dance music and village hard rock, made the top ten of the sales chart and earned Anděl Award nominations. It was preceded by the single U Hřiště 380, after which his popularity shot up. In 2024 he followed up with the album HOOOTS, which leans even harder into pub rock and chanted, sing-along choruses.

His biggest hit so far has been the Sparta anthem Letná, which he recorded with producer Manene in May 2024: in 24 hours it racked up almost 300,000 plays on Spotify, something no Czech recording had managed until then, and it was also played at the title celebrations on Letná. In 2025 he appeared in Petr Kolečko's film Kouzlo derby.
