Who is Jaroslav Oláh

Jaroslav Oláh is a singer and rapper of Roma origin who comes from Chodov. Before going all-in on music, he played football semi-professionally for FC Baník Sokolov in the second tier of Czech football and gained work experience both in England and at home. The wider public got to know him on the sixth series of Česko Slovenská SuperStar in 2020.

Musically he sits between R&B, pop and rap, weaving elements of Roma music into a modern sound. After the EP Nemůžu zapomenout (2021), in 2023 he released his debut album Lovestory on Blakkwood Records, with tracks such as “Šípková Růženka”, “Hlavolam” with Refew, “Zmatená” with Daniel Cina and “Vlny” with Jakub Děkan. He followed up with the live recording Secret Concert (2024), the album Lifestory (2025) and the EP Chalani (2026). With Refew he also recorded the track “Čardáš”, and his songs have millions of plays on streaming services.

He performs in various line-ups – from a DJ with a guitarist to a full live band – and builds on a distinctive voice and an emotional delivery. He has also recorded a podcast with Jakub Děkan.
