Who is Renne Dang

Renne Dang, real name René Dang, was born in 1995 in Rychnov nad Kněžnou; his father comes from Vietnam. He has been a member of Blakkwood Records since 2014 and released the joint Projekt Asia (2015) with Viktor Sheen.

His debut album CON LAI (2017), whose title is the Vietnamese term for a person of mixed race and refers to his father's origins, went gold, and its follow-up THÁI (2019) went platinum. After the albums DANG (2021) and Navzdory (2023), the EP poslední léto (2023) marked a turn towards guitar-driven genres and an alternative emo aesthetic. He continues in that vein on the albums problémy v ráji (2024), which went double platinum, and trauma party (2026), which mixes pop, rap and rock.

The wider public got to know him in 2025 through the reality show Survivor Česko & Slovensko, where he finished sixth. That same year he won the Český slavík in the Discovery of the Year category and donated the prize money to Nevypusť duši, an organisation dedicated to mental health. In his home region he runs the festival Poslední léto in Kostelec nad Orlicí. He performed at The Culture in Liberec in 2026.
