Who is Sergei Barracuda

Sergei Barracuda, real name Erik Peter, is an Ostrava rapper who has been doing hip hop since 2010 and is one of the standout personalities of the Czech rap scene. He made his name with the Pouliční ekonomická mixtape series, whose first instalment came out in 2010, and with the group AK alongside Pastor and DJ Bussy, with whom he released albums including Bída & Bolest (2015) and Syndikát (2019).

As a solo artist he has released the records Medusa (2019), Produkt (2021), Finesa (2022), Růst & Prosperita (2023) and 713 až na věky (2024), on which for the first time he largely produced his own beats – by his own account, he spent eight years learning production. The album contains the successful single Směj se teď and the track Ostrava. He has also released joint projects with Hard Rico (Kila zdarma) and Palermo (Goodfellas). He introduced himself to a wider audience in Adam Sedlák's film BANGER. (2022), in which he played himself, and he recorded the song Prach with Adam Mišík. In 2026 he guested on the Kryštof single Moviestars.

His style has evolved from hard rap in a deep voice to more melodic, auto-tuned territory and back to a rawer sound. He still proudly represents his city – in an interview for the Czech collecting society OSA he declared that you can take him out of Ostrava, but you can't take Ostrava out of him.
