Who is Calin

Calin, real name Călin Panfili, was born in 1997 in Chișinău, Moldova, and is one of the most-streamed artists on the Czech scene. He got into music at around thirteen, when he won a talent contest organised by Ben Cristovao. At grammar school in Brno he met producer David Kopecký (D.Kop), who signed him to the label Mike Roft Records in 2016; today he releases music under his own imprint, Rychlí kluci.

His debut album Svědomí came out in 2020, but the breakthrough came with the record Popstar (2022) and its hits Hannah Montana, Praha/Vídeň and Nad ránem. His joint album Roadtrip with Viktor Sheen became the best-selling Czech record of 2023, and its single Safír the most-played song of the year on Czech Spotify. Next came the albums Bieber Fever and Bieber Fever Tour Life (both 2024) and a country project under the alter ego Skippy McDippy (2025). The song Pistácie with Sofian Medjmedj was the most-played track of 2025 on Czech Spotify.

Calin combines rap with R&B and pop melodies. He won the Anděl Award for Discovery of the Year 2022, was named Discovery of the Year 2022 in the Český slavík poll and won its hip hop & rap category three years in a row (2023–2025). In 2026 he made his acting debut as the fighter Filip in the MMA drama Bojovník.
